Since the acquisition of his first camera at the age of 9, Barrys' passion for photography has occupied his entire working life. Barry has been a professional industrial photographer for fifty years, and it has taken him to 82 countries and his work has been widely published.

 

During Barry's career, he spent eight years as a photographyer in the royal New Zealand Air Force.  Also for the New Zealand Government he was appointed official photographer for Queen Elizabeth II during her first visit to New Zealand in 1953-54.

 

In 1956 one of Barry's missions with the Air Force was to go to Singapore for four years, where he covered the Malasian War and did work for the Government throughout the Far East.

 

Barry came to live in Europe in 1962 and continued to satisfy his passion for travel and photography.   He now considers himself retired, although he continues to take photographs for his own pleasure.
