Mas Saurine Painting Holidays in the French Pyrenees The studio

Classes take place in the studio or out in the field, depending on the subject and course. We do try to work outdoors as much as possible to take advantage of the wonderful scenery and light.

There is one free day during the week, which you might like to use to visit a vineyard, a trip to the beach or a local museum. We are within easy reach of the Museum of Modern Art in Ceret and not far from the Dali Museum in Figueras, Northern Spain.

The very spacious studio which we have built in the 100 year old stone barn has excellent natural light. It provides a creative atmosphere for our workshops and to escape from the midday sun and is well equipped with easels, work boards, and a selection of paper and canvasses.

For use in the field we supply folding chairs and have some light weight easels. Along with your enthusiasm, you need to bring your paint, brushes and any specialist papers that you like.

Don’t worry if you are a complete beginner, as we have all the tools to hand for you to try. A suggested list of equipment to bring can be supplied at time of booking. If you run out of anything supplies are available nearby.
