I come from a large family of artists and have grown up with a love of colour and design. My maternal grandmother was an accomplished artist and I was heavily influenced by her love of painting. After taking early retirement from my career in business management  I had time to renew my interest.

Following an HND course in Fine art and teaching I moved to the South of France to run painting holidays and workshops in this special part of France. 

The inspirational light and subject matter is just amazing and I love showing people this area and helping them to describe their chosen subject matter in their own way.  No one is put under any pressure you can work at your own pace and in whichever medium you wish. 

We paint everyday starting after breakfast, with a coffee break mid morning.  Following a light lunch we paint all afternoon with a break for tea up and then work until about 5.30 pm.  There is usually time for a swim or a walk before aperitif time and dinner.

As your tutor I will  help you develop your ideas whilst retaining your individual style. To guide you in your chosen medium during the week we will look at drawing and observation techniques, composition and perspective and tonal quality in planning a painting. Also how to use and mix colour and use of different mediums. I can also advise you on mounting and framing your finished work.

Our well equipped and spacious studio provides a creative atmosphere for you to work. We also arrange trips en plein air to a number of attractive locations to stimulate your creative juices and many of our guests return each year to paint the things they didn’t get round to the year before.

The cost for a week is 700 Euros per person

or 650 Euros for two artists sharing a room. 

Non-painting partners and artists not requiring tuition are very welcome at 600 Euros for the week.

Included in the price are your meals and tuition and pick up from Perpignan airport or railway station.  Flights and holiday insurance are not included.
