Carolynn Hinde-Smith - Resident tutor
I come from a large family of artists and have grown up with a love of colour and design. My maternal grandmother was an accomplished artist and I was heavily influenced by her love of painting. After taking early retirement from my career in business management I had time to renew my interest. For the next twelve years I was privileged to study painting and drawing techniques with Ken Ray B.A. in England. I studied for an HND in Fine Art and Teaching and in 2002 I moved to the South of France to run painting holidays and workshops in this special part of France.
As your tutor I wish to help you develop ideas whilst retaining your individual style. To guide you in your chosen medium during the week we will look at drawing and observation techniques, composition and perspective and tonal quality in planning a painting. Also how to use and mix colour and use of different mediums. I can also advise you on mounting and framing your finished work.
Our well equipped and spacious studio provides a creative atmosphere for you to work. We also arrange trips en plein air to a number of attractive locations to stimulate you and many of our guests return each year to paint the things they didn’t get round to the year before.
The cost for a week is 950 Euros per person
or 850 Euros for two artists sharing a room.
Non-painting partners are very welcome at 720 Euros for the week.
Included in the price are your meals and tuition and pick up from Perpignan airport or railway station. Flights and holiday insurance are not included.
